Prince Harry has suffered a public blow as the Duke of Sussex’s Netflix show looms.
The father-of-two is preparing a project with the streaming platform about polo – a sport which is also loved by Harry’s pal, Nacho Figueras.
Figueras opened up about working with Prince Harry on their upcoming polo documentary series.
However, he acknowledged a shocking fact about the series that will surprise some royal fans.
The Argentinian polo player said: “The show is not about me. It’s not about him.”
Royal fans who were hoping to see non-stop footage of the Duke of Sussex will likely be very disappointed with this news.
Although Harry will not come across as the main player in the documentary, Figueras seemed positive about the upcoming show.
He continued to tell People: “Look, to me, it’s an honour to do anything with him. He’s a dear friend.
This is more his project than it is mine. It’s an honour to know that I was able to help.”
The series POLO, which premieres in December, is being produced under the Duke of Sussex’s company Archewell Productions.
Figueras continued: “And the show is not about me. It’s not about him … So we’ve been working very hard on it and we’re very excited about the outcome.”
The streamer shared in a statement posted on social media that POLO “follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport.
Sharing his best memory of filming the documentary, Figueras said: “Look, everything about it. I would love for it to be a kind of, like a surprise.
“But what I can tell you is that me as a polo player, I think this is something that I’ve been waiting for my entire life.”
The polo star said the docuseries aims to “introduce millions of people to what the sport is all about.”
He explained: “You know, the behind-the-scenes, kind of like what Drive to Survive did for Formula 1. I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens … Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a, hopefully, longer series that will expose our sport to millions of people.
