Sussexes Shut Out: Palace in ‘No Renegotiation’ Mode as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s…
When it comes to hopes for a royal “renegotiation” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s working royal status, the royal rebels should reportedly “get used” to being shut out of palace gates.
This led royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams to tell an outlet, “If you consider in the past four years they’ve conducted a guerrilla war against the royal family, and they’ve done enormous damage to it. When did the Sussexes last say something that was favorable about the royal family?”
“Every single royal event that involved the Sussexes, you’d have the focus on them and it would, in reality, be completely impractical,” he added.
Prince Harry has only returned to the U.K. a handful of times since Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral two years ago. The Duchess of Sussex has not been back since, and according to commentator Phil Dampier, she will likely never come back, again. The ex-actress was reported to have “totally snubbed” her father-in-law, King Charles III’s historic coronation at Westminster Abbey in May 2023.
In light of all the scandals and drama since “Megxit” in early 2020, Fitzwilliams added, “Every single royal event that involved the Sussexes, you’d have the focus on them, and it would, in reality, be completely impractical. If you consider in the past four years they’ve conducted a guerrilla war against the royal family, and they’ve done enormous damage to it. When did the Sussexes last say something that was favorable about the royal family?”
Even former royal insiders take the expert’s view when it comes to, what one royal source called “hilarious fan fiction.”
“There is no room for any reconciliation now,” former royal butler to Diana, Princess of Wales, Paul Burrell, even said on behalf of Slingo. “The royal family just doesn’t trust Harry.”
“He’s worn away all the trust that they had in him,” he added. “They can’t invite him back into the fold because they know that when he gets back to America, he’ll tell Meghan everything, and then the rest of the world will know exactly what’s happening. William doesn’t trust him and won’t let his brother back into his life. I think Harry is very sad about the situation, but he’s done it to himself.”
Although Harry is allegedly still on speaking terms via phone with the King, when it comes to regaining trust with Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, the ex-working royal may want to move on.
The problem for the King and other members of the family is the worry that if they have a chat with Harry, it will appear in Spare volume two,” a source spilled.
“How do you regain the trust?” they asked. “I don’t think Harry ever can. But from the conversations I’ve had with the King, I would never say their relationship is irreparable. The King’s capacity to forgive his son is undimmed. There are other members of the royal family who are much more weighted against Harry, that’s the problem.”
