Novak Djokovic expressed admiration for his wife Jelena Djokovic for her efforts to spread awareness among parents on early childhood development through the Novak Djokovic Foundation. He added a touch of humor to highlight his wife’s single-mindedness by sharing that it was “all she could talk about… even in front of the mirror.”

Jelena Djokovic will be hosting a series of talks and interactive lectures by parenting expert Dr. Gordon Neufeld. The events will take place this year in Serbia and nearby regions from October 4-15.The 24-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram to share a picture of himself looking in a mirror placed on a pop-up.Above the mirror is written,

“Parenting”
and a line below it read,
“The story is about me not my child” [translated from Croatian].

Djokovic lauded his wife for her efforts and also hilariously teased her with the caption,
“All @jelenadjokovicndf talks about nowadays is parenting conferences and Dr Gordon Neufeld… even in front of the mirror – I swear [laughing with tears emoji) Every year, Team @novakfoundation host events educating parents on early childhood development. They raise awareness, funds and most importantly – help raise healthy children. So worth talking to a mirror about! [laughing emoji]”

The couple started the Novak Djokovic Foundation in 2007. Since then, the foundation has developed early childhood projects in Serbia. The parenting conferences are an annual event hosted by Jelena Djokovic.

Jelena Djokovic recently shared a short video by Laureus Sports that featured the couple and their work through the Novak Djokovic Foundation.

The video contained short clips of the couple interacting with the kids who are part of their foundation and sharing their thoughts and motivations behind the project.

Novak Djokovic spoke about the adversities that he and Jelena Djokovic endured during their childhoods and how that shaped their thinking while working with the foundation. He said,
“We went through tough childhoods…war-torn countries and adversities, challenges for our families, our parents, a lot of families in our country, our region. It all seemed, in the reality of that time, quite impossible reaching some great heights, whether it is in sports or business or education, but we always had to dream that we have what it takes to be one of the selected few that can make an impact.”
Novak Djokovic was honored with the 2024 Laureus Sportsman of the Year for the fifth time in April this year. He has previously been bestowed with the honor in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2019. Djokovic was recognized for his stellar 2023 season in which he won the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the US Open.
