Kensington Palace drops new post amid Kate Middleton’s suspense

The official social media account of The Prince and Princess of Wales put out a post on Sunday wishing people a happy St. Patrick’s Day. The post was accompanied by a video of The Irish Guard rehearsing for the St. Patrick’s Day parade, which takes place every March 17 in Ireland.

It was a parade that Princess of Wales Kate Middleton — who’s also the honorary Colonel of The Irish Guards — skipped over ongoing health concerns. This marked the first time in several years that Princess Kate skipped the annual event.

The Princess of Wales has not been seen in public for the last few weeks. There has been intense speculation about her whereabouts and wellbeing, something which was seen in the replies to the post th Royal Couple put up for St. Patrick’s Day. Several people replied to the message with: ‘Where is Kate?’

Where is Kate?’ is a question that has dominated several sections of the internet following a ‘morphed’ March 10 Mother’s Day photo featuring Kate Middleton with her children.

The photo was the first officially released image of the princess since she underwent abdominal surgery in January. However, it sparked a storm after people on the internet pointed out that it seemed to have been digitally altered, perhaps with the help of artificial intelligence.

Leading news agencies soon withdrew the photo and on March 11, the social media account of The Prince and Princess of Wales posted an apology on Kate’s behalf. “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” the apology said.

Meanwhile, online discussion on Kate Middleton’s whereabouts and health remains intense, with some sections linking her disappearance to a rumoured affair between her husband, Prince William, and her friend Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley.

This weekend, unconfirmed reports suggested that the events arm of the public broadcaster BBC had been put on alert for an “extremely important” announcement from the Royal Family. The Royal Family has been silent on the entire issue so far even as speculation about Princess Kate’s whereabouts continues to rage.
