Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry locked in ‘frightening’ battle out of King Charles’s hands
Prince Harry may hope his father, King Charles, could help him as he presses ahead with his legal battle against the UK Government over his taxpayer-funded security, however, the situation is not in the monarch’s hands, sources have claimed.
The Duke of Sussex is reportedly keen to go ahead with the long-running battle over the security arrangements for himself and his family when they are in the UK, after losing his “frankly hopeless” bid to appeal a decision earlier this year, with a two-day hearing set to be held at the Court of Appeal in April, according to the Mail on Sunday.
According to the outlet, Harry’s determination is due to his desire to return to the UK more often.
The Duke of Sussex contested the Home Office’s February 2020 decision that he should receive a different degree of protection when he returned to the UK after he quit his royal duties.
It comes as earlier this summer a royal insider told People magazine that “Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father”, however, the a palace source said the notion is not in “Charles’s hands.
