Princess Kate has shared a special tribute to her parents Carole and Michael Middleton in her new video message.
The Princess of Wales released a new video confirming she has completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment.
She was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and has stepped back from royal duties to focus on her recovery
The Princess of Wales has only made two major public appearances this year, the first coming at Trooping the Colour and the second at Wimbledon alongside her sister Pippa and her daughter Princess Charlotte.
In the new video message, Kate and William can be seen playing with their children in the woods, on the beach and in the sea.
The only other people to feature in the video other than the Royal Family are Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton.
The Middletons can be seen playing a card game alongside Kate and their grandchildren George, 11, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six.
Carole and Michael’s appearance in the video is a special tribute to her parents and highlights the important role they have played in her healing journey.
Kate outlined in her video statement that “the last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family”.
The Princess of Wales added that she plans to return to work and hopes to undertake several engagements before the new year.
In a statement read out in the video, Kate says: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
The Princess of Wales continued: “Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.
“I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can
.
“Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.
“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time.
