King Charles finally clear the air about Prince William and Kate’s conspiracy theories

Now that weeks of controversy seem to be boiling over for the royal family, many are wondering about King Charles’ response to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s conspiracy theories. The monarch, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, seems to be relatively unfazed by the media storm.

According to a source who spoke to Harper’s Bazaar, the 75-year-old is being “kept abreast” of the ongoing controversies surrounding the royal family, but he ultimately “isn’t too concerned.” These comments come amidst ongoing uproar over a manipulated portrait of Kate and her children, which was released on March 10, 2024, and prompted a rare apology attributed to Kate from Kensington Palace. “Some staff can’t quite believe how badly [Kensington Palace] have cocked things up by not paying close enough attention to what was being released to the world,” the source remarked.

The portrait, initially released to commemorate Mother’s Day in the UK, was swiftly retracted by major news agencies due to its glaring photoshop errors. The photo exacerbated ongoing conspiracy theories surrounding Kate and her health ever since her planned abdominal surgery in January 2024, which has kept her out of the public eye for weeks. Despite the tumultuous response from the public, the palace insider suggests that the controversy is likely to blow over soon, noting, “This is not the first storm to hit these parts.”

Meanwhile, Kate Middleton appears to be handling the situation as best as she can—all things considered. Described as “smiling, upbeat, and enjoying being out” by a separate source, she has reportedly ventured out from her home in Windsor multiple times over the last few weeks, including a recent photographed outing with Prince William, where she was reportedly spotted sitting beside him in their Range Rover.

[This situation] has caused some stress for the princess, but she tends not to pay attention to online chatter or even the press,” Bazaar’s source added. “I think people forget that this was simply a mother wanting her family to look their best in a photograph that was going to be heavily scrutinized. She was protecting her children.” For both the princess and King Charles, it looks like the plan is to continue to simply keep calm and carry on.
