Prince William is set for a new public appearance as he returns from holiday with Princess Kate, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
The Prince of Wales, 42, will visit the Saatchi Gallery on Thursday, September 5 to view Homelessness: Reframed, an exhibition which explores the complexities of homelessness
This is set to be William’s first public engagement following his summer holiday with the Princess of Wales.
The Waleses are enjoying a break at Balmoral Castle in Scotland with their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
During his visit, the Prince of Wales will meet artists who have contributed pieces for the exhibition, alongside those with lived experience of the issue.
Created in collaboration between Homewards, Saatchi Gallery and Eleven Eleven Foundation, the exhibition displays works from artists in the UK and beyond.
The Homewards programme, launched by Prince William in June 2023, is attempting to challenge stereotypes around homelessness.
The exhibition is split into three main sections. The first, ‘Invisible Words’, features a collection of signs created by people experiencing homelessness worldwide.
The signs capture emotions ranging from shame and desperation to humour and resilience.
The second section of the exhibition, ‘Reframed’, contains pieces by artists that explore homelessness.
Artists who have provided works for the exhibition include Marc Quinn, Dave Tovey, Simone Brewster, Opake, and poet Surfing Sofas.
Prince William will also hear from photographer, Rankin, who worked with Homewards to photograph nine individuals with lived experience of homelessness.
The father-of-two will then visit the final section, ‘Open Doors’.
This features doors made by children from the six Homewards locations – Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland, and Sheffield.
The doors symbolise paths to ending homelessness.
The prince will also meet children from Creative Kids, a charity in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, who took part in one of the workshops.
