Pippa Middleton awkward moment at Wimbledon revealed as Princess Kate couldn’t help
The Princess of Wales was spotted introducing Princess Charlotte to Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaras last week.
Speaking to Carlos, Kate is said to have told him: “This is Charlotte, cheering you on.”
As Kate finished up her conversation with the Spanish champion, Kate went to introduce her sister Pippa Middleton – but it was too late.
As the 42-year-old was set to bring her sister into the conversation, the crowd began cheering and Carlos looked as though he was leaving.
The awkward moment meant that Pippa and Kate had no choice but to step back and watch as the room filled with cheers for the winner, who won against Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
outing marked Princess Kate’s second public appearance of the year, with the royal looking delighted to be joined by her daughter and sister.
The Princess of Wales has taken a step away from public duty this year after undergoing abdominal surgery back in January. This break was then extended after post-operative tests confirmed that cancer had been present.
The mother of three publicly revealed her cancer diagnosis back in March, also confirming that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy for the disease.
Prior to her appearance at Wimbledon last week, which was only confirmed the day before, Kate attend this year’s Trooping the Colour.
On June 15, Kate made her first appearance of the year alongside Prince William and their three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
It has recently been reported why Princess Kate opted to take Charlotte to the Wimbledon final – instead of George and Louis.
Speaking to the Sun, royal author and commentator Ingrid Seward said: “It was a long held promise that Kate would take Charlotte to the finals as a special treat.
“Kate felt guilty she hadn’t been able to spend as much time as she would have liked to be with the kids because of her exhaustion after her treatment.”
The Princess of Wales’s sweet bond with Pippa, 40, has been evident this year more than ever before.
Pippa has been a tower of support for her sister, especially during her cancer treatment.
Much like Kate, Pippa is also a mother of three – sharing Arthur, Grace and Rose with her husband James Matthews.
