Prince George’s music taste revealed by Princess Kate in ‘very sweet’ interaction banter
Prince George reportedly became a big fan of the rock band Queen when they played for Queen Elizabeth in 2022 during celebrations for her Platinum Jubilee.
His mother Princess Kate got chatting to lead singer Adam Lambert at last year’s Christmas carol service, where he explained what an honour it had been to play in front of Buckingham Palace.
However, she also admitted that George had gotten a little confused over who was the singer and who was the guitarist, with original members Brian May and Roger Taylor also joining the line up.
Adam, the replacement for the late Freddie Mercury, said after the carols at Westminster Abbey: “It was such an honour. I got to meet Princess Kate, which was fabulous. She was absolutely lovely and down to earth and charming.
“She was talking about her son [George] recalling the performance with the Queen at the Palace for the Platinum Jubilee two years before.
She was, like, he said, ‘Oh is Adam going to play his guitar?’.
“She said, ‘I think he was confused who was playing guitar and who was who but he remembered who you were.’ I was like, ‘Oh, that is cute’.”
Adam then praised the Princess as he said: “You could tell she really wanted to take a second to connect to say thanks.”
Adam Lambert performed at Kate’s ‘Together At Christmas’ Carol Service last December and got the chance to interact with the royal after.
Prince William has also lifted the lid on what his children like to listen to at home, following the Coronation Concert in 2023 at Windsor Castle.
The Prince of Wales met the Rock Choir ahead of the show and explained that his eldest George is “very much into” the rock bands AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.
Caroline Mulvihill, a member of the Rock Choir, told PA: “We were talking about the kind of music we do in Rock Choir and Will was telling us in their household they have a very diverse music taste and George is very much into AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.
William opened up about his children’s morning routine, as they like to listen to music to get them ready for the day as they eat their breakfast.
According to the Mirror, William said: “What I’ve been amazed by is how much my children already have inherited my family’s love of music.
“Most mornings there’s a massive fight between [Princess] Charlotte and [Prince] George as to what song is played.
He added: “And I have to, now, basically prioritise that one day someone does this one and another day it’s someone else’s turn.
“So, George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the clamour for the music.
