Prince William issues statement amid Kate Middleton ‘deteriorating’ health
Prince William released a statement about the money collected at the Royal Polo Charity Cup after Kate Middleton skipped the event due to her ‘deteriorating’ health.
On July 12, the Prince of Wales participated in the Royal Charity Polo Cup 2024 at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park to raise funds for various noble causes.
While sharing rare glimpses of the future King of England playing the game, Kensington Palace informed on social media that “One Million pounds raised for great causes.”
The statement further reads, “Every year £1 million is raised at the Royal Polo Charity Cup! Over the last 13 years, we’ve raised over £13 million.”
“This money has gone on to fund so many worthy causes, with this year’s recipient charities being: @Air_Ambulance, Mountain Rescue England & Wales, @Giveusashoutinsta, @Childbereavementuk, @RoyAfriSoc, @_place2be, @actionforchildrenuk, @mndassoc, @blackthornrally, @hmsoardacious, @royalmarsden.”
Notably, Kate, who was present last year at the sports event, did not make it this year as she has been currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy after her cancer diagnosis in March.
Earlier, Kensington Palace confirmed that Catherine would not be attending the polo event to support William, seemingly hinting that the future Queen of England is not feeling well these days.
The Princess of Wales herself revealed in her last statement that she was making good progress but was “not out of the woods yet” and had “good days and bad days” during her cancer treatment.
