Kensington Palace finally makes big announcement about Kate Middleton attending Wimbledon final

Princess Kate will attend the Wimbledon men’s final tomorrow, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

The Princess of Wales, who is patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, is expected to present the trophy to the winner of the coveted Men’s Singles Final.

Last month she made a sensational appearance at Trooping the Colour, the first time she had been pictured since Christmas Day last year.

But aides were keen to stress that while she was feeling well enough to attend the King’s birthday parade, her attendance was not a sign of her return to royal duties.

Instead, she would attend events across the summer, as and when she feels able to, with the support and guidance of her medical team.

The announcement comes days after Wimbledon said they were working on “backup plans” in case the Princess, who is undergoing preventative chemotherapy, was unable to attend this year.

Princess Kate, 42, has remained out of the spotlight since her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, but made a surprise appearance at Trooping the Colour alongside the rest of the Royal Family.
