Rafael Nadal recently participated in the Burma bridge activity on vacation, which sparked hilarious reactions from his fans. The Spaniard is currently preparing for the upcoming Paris Olympics where he will compete in singles and doubles.
Nadal has been struggling with injuries since 2023 and returned to the court this year. The 22-time Grand Slam champion played at the Brisbane International but then suffered another injury, which kept him at bay until the clay season. The Spaniard made his comeback in the Barcelona Open and then competed at the 1000 Masters in Madrid and Rome. He then entered Roland Garros by exercising his protected ranking and drew Alexander Zverev in the opening round. Zverev defeated Nadal in straight sets, becoming only the fourth man to do so at Roland Garros.
Since then, Nadal has taken some time off. In his latest Instagram story, the 38-year-old shared a video trying his hand (or feet) on the Burma Bridge. It is a classic rope walking activity popular across the globe. He treaded carefully along the path, holding on to the harness tightly.
Fans, however, were concerned about Rafa’s escapade given his recent injury history. One fan said Nadal needed to relax as they didn’t want him to get any more injuries.
“He should calm down we don’t need more injuries.
Another fan hilariously asked the Spaniard to get off the bridge.
“Get the fcuk outta that thing with immediate effect ffs.”
Here are some other reactions from other users.
“He is so versatile across many sports – outside tennis, he can swim, play golf… & now is learning how to climb! If he excels in the other 3, he has (a total of) 4 chances to win a medal!” a fan opined.
“If he don’t go sit that glorious ass down somewhere… This is shit you do when you aren’t made of glass,” joked another.
“Rafa preparing for the Olympics but not for the tennis. Gonna do the climbing tournament,” a user jested.
“Somebody get him off that,” another said.
