Novak Djokovic and daughter steal the show as heartwarming Wimbledon footage captured

Novak Djokovic melted the hearts of tennis fans worldwide when a clip of him and his daughter playing at Wimbledon surfaced online. The 37-year-old Serbian has two children with his wife Jelena, Stefan, 9, and Tara, 6 – and it was his cute antics with the latter in London that filled fans with joy recently.

With the rain pouring down at Wimbledon, the tennis pro is spotted sporting a grey hoodie and shorts while he wrestles and rolls around with his daughter playfully – before the two later bounce an exercise ball together, laughing and smiling. The clip titled “Novak on dad duty” comes to an end with Tara sneaking up behind him, before embracing him in adoration.

Fans of the sporting sensation were quick to the comments section to share their happiness at the dad and daughter’s fun on a rainy day. One wrote: “That hug at the end by his daughter tells you everything you need to know about their relationship,” with a goat and a heart emoji.

Another added: “The cutest most beautiful family. And people question why he doesn’t play more. Only a horrible parent wouldn’t stuggle with leaving those kids. He clearly lives being a dad so much. Beautiful priorities.”

Meanwhile, a third went on: “He’s got styars in his eyes for his daughter,” while a fourth praised: “Beautiful moments!! Love this wholesome content,” with a clapping emoji. A fifth said: “So sweet. Daddy’s girl,” while another social media user wrote: “Best thing we’ll see today.”

A highly-decorated athlete, Djokovic will be hoping to add another Grand Slam to his 24-title resume made up of ten Australian Opens, three French Opens, seven Wimbledon titles and four US Open wins. He would dispose of Vit Kopriva in his opening game on Tuesday (July 2) 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, before beating Jacob Fearnley 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 in the second round.

A slow start with Alexei Popyrin at the weekend – losing the opening set 4-6 – looked to be troublesome for Djokovic, but he would go on to achieve 6-3, 6-4 and 7-6 victories consecutively to make it to Monday’s (July 8) round of 16 game. He will face Holger Rune at Centre Court at 5.15pm – with the winner going on to face either Arthur Fils or Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
