Emma Raducanu is on a roll again at a Grand Slam championship after dismantling Maria Sakkari in straight sets yesterday. And the 2021 US Open champion will be back out in front of British fans later for what could be Andy Murray’s final ever match at SW19.
The pair take on Marcelo Arevalo and Shuai Zhang in the mixed doubles, and are expected out on Court No.1 at around 6pm. First up on Centre Court today, it’s Cam Norrie in action against Alexander Zverev, before Ons Jabeur faces Elina Svitolina.
Novak Djokovic rounds off the action on the showpiece court against Alexei Popyrin, while defending women’s champion Iga Swiatek will be on Court one against Yulia Putintseva. British hopeful Harrier Dart meanwhile, will hope to continue her fairytale run on Court No.2 against Xinyu Wang.
Day six order of play
So Cameron Norrie gets us underway on Centre Court at 1.30pm today, taking on Alexander Zverev. He’ll be followed by Ons Jabeur v Elina Svitolina and Alexei Popyrin v Novak Djokovic.
On Court No.1 at 1pm, Denis Shapovalov and Ben Shelton will continue their match, having managed just five games yesterday. Iga Swiatek v Yulia Putintseva and Elena Rybakina v Caroline Wozniacki will follow – before, yes, Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray.
Gauff humble in victory
Coco Gauff showed her class after beating Britain’s Sonay Kartal in the third round.
“I thought I played really well, she was playing well at a high level, especially at the first set,” Gauff said in her on-court interview. “It’s been a great tournament for her and I know how special it is to play at home, so I am happy that she had such a good tournament and hopefully she’ll be back for more in the future.”
Raducanu shares Murray frustration
Emma Raducanu has slammed the scheduling of her Wimbledon mixed doubles match with Andy Murray with the pair set to play at the same time as England’s Euro 2024 clash today.
They will be last on Court No.1 against Marcelo Arevalo and Shuai Zhang, and Raducanu said: “The scheduling of that was not ideal.
Asked if she had any influence over the decisiont, the British No.3 added: “No, I just came off court and found out myself.
