Novak Djokovic is safely through, and there was no sign of discomfort in his knee as he sauntered to a win over Vit Kopriva yesterday. Some matches were delayed because of steady rain at SW19, but thankfully Wednesday’s forecast suggests there will be few disruptions.

Today’s order of play
Play gets underway on Centre Court at 1.30pm today when fifth seed Daniil Medvedev takes on Alexandre Muller.

But many eyes will be on Court No.1. Coco Gauff gets things underway against Anca Todoni at 1pm, before Carlos Alcaraz v Aleksandar Vukic. The it’s Emma Raducanu against Elise Mertens.

Djokovic avoids sanction
Novak Djokovic has explained he had special permission to wear non-white strapping for his first round match at SW19 yesterday.

After beating Vit Kopriva, he explained: “I actually met the chairwoman before walking onto the court. She gave me the thumbs up, so it was okay.

“Of course, we did check in the days prior if we have permission. We’re trying to find a white one, trust me. I know it’s not ideal. I like to go all white and I like to respect the rules. But I got the permission. I said to them that I will give our best for the next match the white one.”

Raducanu takes aim at critics
Emma Raducanu has aimed a sly dig at her critics ahead of a second round match with Elise Mertens today.

The 21-year-old has implied she would rather take flak than be ignored, saying: “I think it just comes down to success. I think when they’re not talking about you, that’s when you need to start to worry.
